Piles Medicine in Pakistan — Tablets, Creams Aur Dr. Ki Mukammal Guide

Every week I see patients who have spent months buying creams and tablets from pharmacies, hoping the problem will go away. Some of them have tried four or five different medicines. They come to me when nothing worked. And honestly, I understand — visiting a proctologist feels uncomfortable. Buying a cream from the pharmacy feels easier. So let me talk about piles medicine in Pakistan properly, and tell you exactly what works, what does not, and when medicine is simply not enough.

Zarori Bat: Is article mein jo bhi medicines ka zikr hai, woh sirf educational information ke liye hai. Koi bhi dawa shuru karne se pehle apne doctor se zaroor milein. Self-medication se Grade aur symptoms worse ho sakte hain.

Piles Medicine — Kya Kaam Karti Hai, Kya Nahi

Let me be direct. Medicines for piles do not cure them. They manage symptoms. There is a big difference. If you have Grade 3 or Grade 4 piles, no tablet or cream will make them go away permanently. But if you have Grade 1 or early Grade 2, then yes — the right combination of medication plus lifestyle change can actually resolve things.

In my practice, I use medicines as part of treatment, not the whole treatment. So let us look at what is actually available in Pakistan.

Daflon (Micronized Purified Flavonoid Fraction)

This is the medicine I prescribe most often for piles. Daflon 500mg or Daflon 1000mg is a venotomic drug — it strengthens the walls of blood vessels and reduces inflammation in the anal veins. It does not remove piles but it reduces bleeding, pain, and swelling quite effectively.

I have noticed that patients who take Daflon properly for 6 weeks along with dietary changes — high fiber, more water — see significant improvement, especially in Grade 1 and 2. It is available in most pharmacies across Karachi without prescription, though I recommend taking it under medical supervision.

Typical dose: 1000mg twice daily for first week, then once daily. But check with your doctor.

Anusol Cream and Suppositories

Anusol is a commonly available product in Pakistan. It contains zinc oxide and bismuth compounds which reduce inflammation locally. The cream is for external application, suppositories for internal use. Good for symptom relief — itching, discomfort, mild bleeding. But again — not a cure.

Kya aapne bhi pehle se yeh cream use ki hai? Thoda theek hua phir wapas aa gaya? Haan, yahi hota hai Grade 2 se upar mein.

Proctosedyl and Other Combination Products

Proctosedyl contains hydrocortisone (a steroid) and cinchocaine (a local anesthetic). It gives quick relief from pain and inflammation. I use it sometimes for short-term symptom management, but I do not recommend long-term use because the steroid component can thin the anal skin with prolonged application.

There are several other local brands available in Pakistan — some with similar compositions. Most give temporary relief. That is their role.

Important: Steroid-containing creams jaise Proctosedyl sirf short term use ke liye hain — 2 weeks se zyada nahi. Long term use se skin thin ho jaati hai aur healing worse hoti hai.

Ispaghol (Psyllium Husk) — My Favorite Recommendation

Yes, technically ispaghol is not a piles medicine, it is a fiber supplement. But I include it here because in my experience it is probably the single most helpful thing a piles patient can take daily. It softens stool, reduces straining dramatically, and gives the veins a chance to recover.

One teaspoon in a glass of water, twice daily. Dirt cheap, available everywhere in Pakistan. And works. Do not underestimate it.

When Medicine Is Simply Not Enough

This is the conversation I have with many patients. They come expecting a prescription. I do give medicines — but I also have to be honest. If you have Grade 3 piles — where the lump has to be pushed back in manually — medicines will not fix that permanently. They will reduce your symptoms temporarily. But the structural problem remains.

Similarly Grade 4 piles — surgical or laser intervention is the only real solution. Medicines here are supportive, not curative. I have seen patients take Daflon for years without surgery and suffer unnecessarily. My honest advice: consult a specialist, understand your grade, and then decide.

At Karachi Piles Clinic, we do a proper assessment and tell you honestly whether medicines are enough or whether you need a procedure. We offer laser treatment which is same-day and very effective for Grade 2-3.

Dr. Abdullah Iqbal: Medicines help, but they are not the complete answer for moderate to severe piles. In my opinion, combining the right medicine with the right procedure at the right time gives the best outcome. Delay karne se Grade barhta hai aur ilaj mushkil aur mehnga hota hai.

Frequently Asked Questions

Pakistan mein piles ke liye best medicine kaun si hai?

Daflon (500mg or 1000mg) is widely considered the most effective oral medication for piles in Pakistan. It reduces bleeding, inflammation, and strengthens vein walls. But it is most effective for Grade 1-2 and must be combined with dietary changes.

Piles cream se permanent ilaj ho sakta hai?

Nahi. Creams like Anusol and Proctosedyl provide symptom relief — itching, pain, swelling — but they do not permanently cure piles. For permanent cure, Grade 3-4 needs laser or surgical treatment.

Piles ki tablet kitne din leni chahiye?

Daflon is usually prescribed for 6-8 weeks. Steroid creams should not be used for more than 2 weeks. Always follow your doctor’s guidance — do not self-medicate for extended periods.

Kya over the counter piles medicine Grade 3 ke liye kaafi hai?

No — absolutely not. Grade 3 piles require clinical intervention. OTC medicines give temporary symptomatic relief but the structural problem does not resolve without laser or surgical treatment.
